Created in 1998 by Philippe Gautheron under the name G-TEC Sport, our structure gained successes in many singles-seaters series, from the Formula Junior 1.6 and Formula 3 to the Open Telefonica by Nissan - most recently known as World Series by Renault.

In 2011, Gautheron created Virage Academy and was joined by Julien Gerbi in order to assist the drivers' physical, mental and technical preparation. Among them, Sergio Perez, Vitaly Petrov, Giedo Van der Garde, Rio Haryanto and other 60 drivers enjoyed the Virage Academy services.

In the Winter 2017-2018, Team Virage is born in order to compete with two LMP3 in the European endurance series such as ELMS, VdeV and Le Mans Cup.

Philippe Gautheron doesn’t need introduction into the European motor racing world. The French-German enjoys a 30 years experience in motor racing in open-wheels, touring cars, GT and prototypes. Founder and Team Manager of GTEC in Open Telefonica by Nissan and Formula 3, he then took over the technical direction of various GP2, World Series by Renault and A1 GP teams on their way to three world championships. Then, he was also director of Virage Academy, taking care of the formation of a dozen drivers on their way to Formula 1.

JULIEN GERBI

Julien Gerbi started his career as a single-seater driver in 2003. After seven years competing internationally in Europe, North America and Middle-East, Gerbi joined Virage Group endorsing the driver coach responsibility in the Academy. He then took over the team management of Fragus Motorsport in Formula Renault 2.0 and Porsche, while directing Campos Racing’s preparation and formation center up to 2017.

Manuel Catalán is the track engineer of Team Virage. He enjoys an experience as race engineer in motorsport in open wheels for over 15 years, in categories such as F3, Superleague, GT and Touring Cars, and participated to a victory in the 24h of Barcelona and two European runner-up titles in GT Open.

Gabriela Parra is the youngest engineer of our staff. Following a short single-seater career in South America, the young Venezuelan worked at Campos Racing before joining Team Virage’s adventure in LMP3.

COSIMO FIORILLO

Italian Cosimo Fiorillo is the most experienced mechanic of our team. Passed by the F3, F3000, GP2 series with many international teams, Fiorillo then took in charge the mechanic part of the German team Motopark, on their way to win the 2017 Macau Grand Prix.
