KTM España and Virage Group are happy to announce their collaboration in the Spanish GT Championship, organised by V-Line. The team will use a X-Bow in GT4 configuration.

The first race at Motorland saw two hispanic drivers behind the wheel of the black and orange Austrian car. Reigning CER Champion Philippe Valenza was joined by Formula Latam Champion, Mexican José Antonio Ledesma.

After scoring the fastest lap time in the GT4 category in Free Practice, Valenza scored the pole position in Q1, then imitated by Ledesma in the Q2. A good start by the Spanish driver saw him taking the 6th place overall and leading his category in the early stages of the race, until a contact in Turn 1 forced him to pit. Back on track in 2nd position of the GT4 category, the race was then red-flagged and the race director decided to do not restart, dashing Valenza and Ledesma’s chances of victory.

On sunday’s race, Ledesma took the start and managed to pull out a strong lead on the other GT4 cars. At mid-race, Valenza got into the car and came back on track in 3rd position. Among the fastest drivers on track, he managed to recover a 37 seconds gap in order to finish P2, a few seconds behind the class winner.

The next race for KTM España by Virage will take place in Navarra, on June 8th and 9th.
