Double podium in the category AM and DNF in the category Pro-Am

The two races of the GT4 South European Series championship took place today Sunday at the Jarama circuit.

The 95 of CO.Jones and Peter Peters started from the fourth position, right in front of the pair Aizpurua/Silva in the 94. While CO.Jones quickly grabbed the third place in the early stages of the race, Aizpurua suffered a strong accident on lap 7, destroying the front of his Vantage GT4 and causing the entry of the safety car and consequently a red flag. The driver managed to get out of his car unscathed.
At the restart of the race, CO.Jones fought for podium positions until the driver change. Losing a bit of time in this pitstop, the 95 finished the race in 5th general position, also climbing on the podium of the AM category.

Race 2 started with a vacant space in Pole Position, as the important damages caused to the 94’s chassis of Silva and Aizpurua did not allow them to start. The 95, starting from 3rd position, suffered a puncture in the first lap and had to stop to change the left rear wheel. Storming from the last position, CO.Jones and Peters managed to reach a positive finale 5th position, also climbing again on the AM category podium.

Julien Gerbi - Team Manager: "It has been a bittersweet weekend for us. It was a historical moment to compete for the first time with the Aston Martin cars, and the assistance of Aston Martin Racing’s staff during the event was great. Of course, we wished for a victory, but the pole position done by Nicholas Silva was a proof of our global performance, and on the other side, our pair in the category AM showed a very competitive pace for their first car/track experience, which have been shadowed by this puncture in Race 2. We have no particular comment regarding the accident which happened in Race 1, even though it would have been great to see Silva start from Pole Position and to see him and Aizpurua fight for a potential victory. We are now looking forward to our next race in LMP3 in Mugello and the 24h of Portimao with the Aston Martins early July."
